A finger on the pulse of PC gaming - one guy's perspective on games, hardware, news, and more

PC Games Beat is my personal take on the current state of PC gaming, from games to the hardware they're played on.  My goal is to update the site four to six times per week with a mix of game reviews, current deals, and thoughts on what's happening in the worlds of gaming and hardware.

I'm 26 years old and I've been a diehard PC gamer for as long as I can remember. My dad got us a PC for Christmas when I was 5 or 6, and I quickly learned how to load Minesweeper, Hangman, and Wheel of Fortune from a DOS prompt.  While I spent a ton of time playing my SNES and N64 throughout the 90's, my passion for PC gaming took off in 1998 when I discovered Bungie's Myth II.  I built my first computer a couple of years afterward, and as they say, the rest was history.  I picked up the nickname "Mad Dog" in 7th grade while wearing a Greg Maddux t-shirt and I've used the name online ever since.

My game preferences are pretty varied, from FPS to racing to a 6-year stint playing World of Warcraft.  Thankfully, Valve acts as the perfect enabler with their Steam Sales, giving me access to a wide array of games for dirt cheap.  I've got a gigantic backlog of games to play through thanks to these deals, and I'm hoping that this site encourages me to pick a few games out of the pile and talk about my experiences with them.
